Ramonito S. Cadalin
I am an AB Philosophy graduate, but I found my interest in Visual Arts.
At a certain point in College, I decided to try for the very first time with oil on canvas. Though, the early works were very conservative, but it was then that my career as an artist was born. From then on I also started experimenting other alternative medias such as terracotta scuplture using the traditional clay firing method and mixed media (specifically on found objects).
Things were becoming more serious until I met a local visual artists group in town and I started participating in several group art exhibits that includes:
"The Human Rights Week" An Installation Art Exhibit at the Silliman University in 2002 Dumaguete City,
"Give Fish a Chance" at Coco Amigos Mexican Restaurant Dumaguete City in 2002,
"Ako Bisaya" at Mooon Cafe Cebu City in 2003,
The "Sandugo" of 7th Visayas Islands Visual Arts Exhibit-Conference known as "VIVA-EXCON VII" held in Tagbilaran Bohol,
"Drawing Drawing" at UP Cebu in 2005.
I also submitted an entry for Metrobank's Young Painter's Annual in 2003 and earned a certificate as semi-finalist for water media category.
I also participated in the 10th VIVA-EXCON held in Cebu last November 27-29, 2008 (VIVA-EXCON is an exhibit conference of Visayan Artists celebrated once in every two years).
Now, I venture to another type of media, the Graphic arts or Digital art which is also my current profession. I went through to short courses school offering such Photoshop, pagemaker, Corel draw, Illustrator and Web Designing. At work things are becoming more interesting, especially that there are a lot opportunities to learn new things.
For the future plans I will go into 3D designs.
